My 5-year-old finished this in one sitting and immediately asked to do it again, which never happens with puzzles. The 48 pieces are big enough for her little hands to grip easily, and the mermaid artwork is bright and detailed. Took us about 30 minutes together the first time.
We spread this out on the living room rug and it covers a huge area, way bigger than I pictured for a floor puzzle. The 48 pieces are chunky enough that my five-year-old can snap them together without them bending, and she sat through the whole mermaid scene on her own.
My four-year-old needed a little help at first, but the pieces are so big and chunky that she could grab them easily. The finished mermaid scene takes up most of the floor, and it kept her busy for a solid half hour. Definitely one of the better rainy-day buys I've made.
